Unless you have been living is a really deep hole secluded from the world then you have probably at the very least heard the world clamoring on about the very serious economic downturn. I am not writing a politically motivated post nor am I an economic genius. Although I find it a must to run a balanced budget at home and in my business life. This being said I think that if the downturn continues that bloggers should be safeguarding what they have worked for thus far by having plans in place to not only protect their online assets but also to safeguard their ability to continue to do what it is they have planned.

When things get tough fiscally speaking many once high held establishments will start to thin out and only solid businesses with solid plans that planned in advance will be able to continue to prosper. I want you as I always have to be one of those people. No matter where you are in the world the power of your idea can be phenomenal. Your delivery and style are important in getting off the ground, but now that you are you need to insure that you can continue down the path of success. Here are a few suggestions that history has taught us about conventional business that can be applied to the pro-blogger’s genre.

The Dangers Of PLR

This is something not many people will cover with you. I was recently completely hosed by some PLR that was on my site. Now for those of us not in the know PLR is simply private label rights material. Whether it be an ebook or a whole sales copy package also including blog posts. Honestly it is work written by someone else with expressed rights for you to reuse it as your own. It may or may not have stipulations attached to it. In my case I hired someone to write some material for me 2 posts as a test for some internet marketing stuff I needed taken care of. Little did I know that this person had just cut and pasted a private label rights article and sent it to me.

Now this may or may not be common practice in the blogging world I know I deleted them as soon as I found out. The reason being that duplicate content will be penalized by google. Also it just does not do much for you for people in the know. I have not used any PLR since these articles and even at the time I was unaware that is was not 100% original. I also have not had anyone else besides a guest post or two that are noted as such on this blog.

Are you an opportunist? Do you practice the art, or policy of taking advantage of opportunities or circumstances often with little regard for principles or consequences. Or are you a tactician which plans in advance for successful events, campaigns , etc? Sitting and thinking about this for a minute may amaze you which you really are. While I am sure we would really like to say both when needed your either planning success with contingencies in place, or you are waiting for opportunity to knock.

The problem with waiting is that the business, readers, sales it could be anything are passing you buy, and trust me they are. Someone else is out there planning to take advantage of your opportunistic mentality, and when they finally have cashed in enough off the opportunities that you have taken advantage of in the past you will have dried up and gone because the marketer with a plan is the marketer who has the best results akin to success.
