Many people stayed the same, but as usual no one is certain what factors made this update more loving than the last. I wanted to do as I usually do a post dedicated strictly to the update. I have finally gotten it written up for you and I hope you enjoy my spin on the whole page rank ordeal.

Last update was epic many sites in what I consider my neck of the woods fared fairly well a few faltered on predictions with no explanation or rhyme or reason. I want to tell you right now that just because you have 80 gazillion incoming links and even if you reciprocated the high PR ones nothing was written in stone. In my limited time here in the blogosphere I have noticed things tend to go in cycles like most things in nature do to begin with. Having pointed that out I want to talk about what I did differently and what I did not. This should give you at the very least a small shred of something that is truth if you infact worry about the page rank you have or have recently loss.

As usual no one is quite sure why one site with similar content and back links is ranked differently than the next. I know many are happy and more than likely just as many are left with a bad taste in their mouth. Either way I am sure you will be driven to do something positive for your own site in the aftermath of the most recent page rank update.

I figured it would be a great day after article if I outlined some of the factors that the leaders of the SEO industry have put to paper as proven facts in deciding your PR. While nothing on the topic is written in stone and 100% likely to change by the next update if you make a plan based on these factors I believe you to will enjoy an upward page ranking.

While I admit I am a little disappointed I am not surprised. I am curious of the other start up blogs and the more established what is happening this update. Judging from other blogs most everyone was upgraded this time. I know relative to last time this update has been much nicer. It seems like the last one slapped a lot of people down pretty hard. I am curious to know about my readers pages if they saw an up or down, and if they might have been using no follow tags regularly or partaking in some for of link exchanges. I have went ahead and put some explanation for those not familar with the Page Rank system and some little info to help with raising it. I expect to see a PR3+ the next time out of the box. What do you expect for your site?

Since the beginning days of the world wide web, search engines have tried and tested different methods of trying to rank web pages. “Page rank” is the method invented by Google to measure the relative importance of a web page, often referred to as popularity.

So, what exactly is Page rank and how is it calculated? According to Google “page rank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important”
