Its really well said about content that its a king that can really give the good traffic if its uniques and there is something rich which attract visitors while link building is also a good process for generating good amount of backlinks to the site. Depending on your website though, sometimes I would even rank link building as the King, while content is the Queen. Bottom line is, blogging, or...successful blogging takes time, work, dedication, and determination. That's why you've got to enjoy it!
