redcarpetSince the inception of this blog I have been an avid supporter of EntreCard. Even though this may drive your bounce rate through the stratosphere for most of us this is the best way to gain exposure across the board. If you are a power dropper and play the ec market then you can also make some cash on the side. This announcement solidifies EC’s place in the blogosphere. SezWho as I had introduced them to many never having heard of them before in a post I previously wrote essentially helps you to provide another way to network and connect with your readers and other blog authors.

With EC and SezWho coming together they are empowering many blog owners with an incentive for otherwise non participatory readers to comment and interact with your much beloved content. After all I know after I research and write a post for my blog it is a bit disheartening to see no one making any commentation at all. This is yet another tool for us all to put into the box and use to make reading our blogs a better experience. Much against the grain for most of the blogosphere I still endorse using EC and I think you will see here very soon many reversing their descion to not participate in this wonderful program.

The basics go like this:
1.) By installing SezWho on your blog, others will earn credits when they leave you comments, and you will earn credits when you comment on others.
2.) Go to this URL to register for SezWho and notify Entrecard:
http://entrecard.com/sezwho_register
3.) There is a check-box on the Entrecard Browser, to search for only SezWho enabled blogs. The benefits of participating are:
1.) You’ll get A LOT more comments as members are more motivated to comment on you.
2.) You’ll earn credits for comments you’re already leaving!
3.) As you become motivated to comment more, you will start receiving more and more traffic, comments and subscribers.

I really do not think you could beat this with a stick and while their will still be perponents that speak out about any “serious” blogger using this, I say don’t worry about it. The added incentive for commentation in my opinion will be a plus to anyone. This actually has some very good credentials because spamming comments on blogs for credits wont work, you will have to actively participate and read the posts and make valuable contributions. This partnership has been a long time coming and I truly believe these two companies need each other. While both are successful on their own what they do for each other is amazing, and what they can do for your blog will also be amazing!
I am especially curious to see what the rest of the blogosphere will think once this catches on. Let us know what you think and if this would be a factor to make you use either EC or SEZWHO. I would also love to hear about why you would choose to not use either of these to help your blog.

Outstanding it has so much potential and with the tools sezwho and akismet and other anti spam plugins this really rewards those that participate!

Has lots of potential, but overall I’ve been disappointed with the level of quality of entrecard traffic and participants. It seems like a lot of spammers and autoblogs. I think this has the potential to backfire and cause a lot of comment spamming, but we’ll see.

I’m pretty new with the concept of using EC to bring it the traffic but the idea of rewarding every comment with EC credit is going to bring in a lot of buzz around the blogosphere.

It’s still fresh from the oven so let’s see how it goes from there.

I have heard about Entrecard joining sezwho, something very useful. I will join. By the way one of your links isn’t working Ben.

It’s really weird that I couldn’t get the mouseover effect on my comment section after I’ve installed the plugin and furthermore I have two avatars now working in tandem.

Anyone has any similar issue? I think I can deal with the avatar but why the mouseover effect doesn’t work on my site?

I was please to hear that EntreCard is *trying* to do something about the low quality traffic they send. I’ve never liked EntreCard all that much, I must admit that I was happy at the start. Nowadays I just see it as a system which has failed and lacks a successful business model. I have been thinking of removing my widget for some time now, and I will do so soon.

EntreCard’s problem is that their system is much too free market and laissez-faire. I believe that people shouldn’t have to become PowerDroppers (after straining their eyes for hours in front of a computer)…It’s just not right and I think a more equal distribution of traffic is required.

This new ‘innovation’ gives me even more of a reason to stop running EntreCard because comment quality will probably drop greatly, and I do not appreciate one to two liners. I care about developing a thinking community, not a troop of mindless individuals who leave petty comments such as ‘good post’ or ‘great stuff’.

Thanks for your post, it has given me the opportunity to share some of my personal opinions about EntreCard and I understand fully that others may think differently.

@Fabz From the EC website, and I have to say that I too was worried this would further deteriorate the quality of EC.. But.. Read for yourself!
How many credits do I get?

You’ll get a sliding range of credits, from 1-10 for each comment. You might not get all the credits right away, and you’ll never get them before 24 hours has elapsed for your comment. However, you may earn additional credits over a period of days after you’ve left a comment. It all depends on how the community reacts to your comments and how well they get rated and by whom. Very few people will ever get the full 10 credits for their comment, but it should be relatively easy to get 5 credits with a good quality comment.
