Google Wave Invites – 25 To Give Away….

Sorry I missed Monday’s post, you know…. Same old excuse that I was busy :) .

Anyway I have been making use of Google Wave in the last few weeks and I have to say that I really like it.

As I have been mentioning, I have been working on a lot of projects with other people so have been using Waves in place of email to keep up to date on things and keep organised central copies of job lists and related materials.

Wave keeps one editable copy of your file on their server. So rather than having to mark off items from a list and then resend a new email out to my partners, I can now edit one central file.

Also I am keeping track of some of my own websites on there, writing keyword lists, notes and more. Just to help with motivation I am even sharing these progress reports with some of my close online buddies.

In short, Wave is useful.

So do you want in?

Great, well I have 25 invites to give away so the first 25 people to comment here, asking for an invite, gets a wave invite. Make sure your email is attached to your name so I can mail you the invite.

    Thanks for sharing how you’re using Google Wave, I’ve heard of it but had no clue really what it was meant to be used for…..you’ve helped me understand so now I know. ;)

    I’m working with someone long distance and have been working in a shared mind mapping program but it’s not really meant for ‘email’ style communication. Google Wave sounds like something I could do with so send me a Wave, thanks! :)

      Ha ha, it’s not very useful until you have other friends on there that are using it too. It has many used but the project collaboration is all I am using it for really right now.

      Add me to your wave contacts and ask a few questions in a wave…. just go to add wave and then use the + symbol to add my name..

      I’ll answer your questions through wave and that should help you get sorted.

    Sure seems like everyone has Google Wave invites these days. Ill bet they are close to launching it full-throttle, unless they are going to keep it in beta forever like their Gmail.

      Hey Joe,

      Basically it’s like they hold your document (or email) in one place and you share it amongst others. You can set it up for everyone to edit that one doc or just view it…. In the future it will have far more uses but for now it’s excellent to use like email that can be directly edited or used for project collaboration.

    I have 25 to give out as well- I just got an invite from Google last month. Really love the service. It’s just too bad that my mobile phone service provider was smart enough to block it from their web browser :(

    I got my Google Wave invite and clearly understand why it is in early test. There is a lot of promise — but you need a lot of patience. Things are slow and still a bit rough on the edges. Not many people to Wave at either. But, I feel strongly that being patient is a good idea.

    My two daughters and I are Blogging The Wave to document our experiences. For example, I am trying to decide on a birthday gift for a daughter. One of them is a college junior. The other is a recent PhD graduate who entered the work force. I am an old tech nerd. So, we should all have different experiences. I am looking forward to the ride.
