Text wrapped ads are great for catching your reader’s eye. In fact, anytime someone asks me about ad placement, my first response is always, “IN THE CONTENT.” Ideally, text wrapped to the left or right is best so here’s a quick tutorial on how to wrap AdSense ads in WordPress using html code.
There are a number of ways to wrap your articles around AdSense ads, but one of the easiest is to simply use the AdSense Deluxe plugin. The plugin stores the ad code for you, then provides a token you can drop anywhere on your blog where you’d like the ad to be displayed.
To wrap the ad in the text of your blog post, simply use the AdSense Deluxe token within the following html snippet like so:
<div style=”display:block;float:left;margin: 17px 17px 17px 17px;”>
Your Shortcut (<!–adsense–>) or Google Adsense code goes here
</div>
To customize, simply swap “float:left” to “float:right” to change allocation, and adjust px numbers for space padding. As you can see, this article is wrapped around an AdSense ad using this same technique.
There you have it! Easy, fast, text wrapped ads for your blog posts.

That’s really useful but doesn’t actually say how to do it in WordPress…
Hit that little “html” tab when you’re composing your next post in wordpress and paste. It’s that simple.

Hi brilliantjeni,
I absolutely had to leave you a message and give you an overflowing PRAISE to your post above… You would not believe the flippin wasteless hours of search that lead to “crap” descriptions on applying this technique.
Let it be known, I am only at an embryo stage when it comes to blogging or anything to do with the internet, therefore by far am probably the furtherest from a “savvy” pc operator.
So, I gave it a go and blow me over I managed to do exactly as suggested and damn… it blimmin worked – Go Bloody Figure!
To anyone who may read this… let me spread the word… the author of this post “absolutely” knows what they’re talking about and should you have any hesitations at trying what is suggested… DON’T… because quite frankly if a NUT like me can do it without one hint of a swear word then I’m sure you can too!
Many Thanks Again,
Your a blimmin Legend!
Thanks for
your sharing, it’s very useful
Extremely delayed response Chris, but you just hit that “html” tab when writing your wordpress post and place it in there.
Joslin, thank you for your kind words. I’m honored.
I blog about advanced blogging strategy on RBT now, but I’m adding a section for beginners to cover the basics like this one. I’ve been blogging for years now and have been a 6 figure blogger now for over a year. This year, I will make 7 figures. I have put in so many hours, I think I have about 8 years worth of experience time-wise. All of that said, I STILL get stumped on simple things! Good thing I know how to laugh at myself right?
Thanks for such a simple tutorial for wrapping Adsense in blog posts. I did not know about the Adsense Deluxe plugin but now I will start using it

Yes, weighting can only be applied through the template. I’m not sure how much of a difference it will make though – you’ve already told Google what are the important parts of a page, it seems redundant to then tell it which parts to ignore.
