I am happy to be here at Real Blogging Tips! It seems to be starting up again nicely, and I feel honored to be helping. I am Nathaniel from Green Flamingo, and I guess I should just say, “Enjoy the Post!”
Many blogs and businesses have been going through changes. Many bloggers wonder when it is time for them to monetize their site. Now Entrecard has the chance to make its big move.
Entrecard is well known for a good trade, you can advertise without spending money, and also some publicity as mostly a publisher. It feels like a really fair system – they have lots of ways to trade and make good of what you have, and can help you starting out with not much cash.
Recently, Entrecard has made the decision to monetize, and that is for a number of reasons.
First of all, many people have wanted Entrecard to be monetized more, and the credit option will still be available. Because of harder economic times Entrecard also wanted to provide something more, and monetization is just the trick.
Entrecard also talked of overflowing credits, a stunning 44 million in their whole system! That seems like a lot to handle, and it makes sense that they would monetize to cut down the use of the Entrecredits.
The Plan
Launching soon, Entrecard will invite the option for you to get cash for the credits that you have earned. The company figures that by doing this the will be able to cut down 1-2 million entrecredits per day, and again make the system manageable. Also, the program will be open to third party advertisers; they will pay entrecard and then will be advertised on your site. No big deal to publishers they will be some of the same ads, and advertisers, you will only be paying for 50% of the impressions now, but the maximum is still 100% of no third parties have booked it.
So in the process, when many entrecredits are dropped, the ones still owned will become more valuable, so earn some now while you have time!
There were a few misunderstandings with the entrecard post; we just want to make sure the same mistakes don’t happen here. There was originally and above the fold rule, but now it is a “1 page down” rule, where it must be within one key of the pagedown to qualify. This is not such a great matter for me, I do not use entrecard as a priority, and I know a lot of other bloggers who use it as a sidekick for their real ads, but I understand Entrecard’s need to do that, for once the money is involved and other advertisers they have to stay to their game.
Additionally, no unwanted or shady ads will be going through Entrecard, and you will not be charged for declining ads either.
It seems like Entrecard’s programs is very ambitious, though I think it will be successful all the same. Bloggers won’t mind making a little extra cash for all the credits they have earned up, and things will seem to run smoothly. Though Entrecard was also proud of not having paid ads before, I think they are making the right decision for the company and for the bloggers who use the program. Be sure to check it out and redeem some of those credits!
A word from Forest:
I want to say thanks to Nathaniel for the great guest post. I have been meaning to read up on the Entrcard changes and now I don’t have to! I already dropped Entrecard from some of my other blogs and was considering it here, however with the new chance to earn some spare cash, I may have to reconsider.
If you would like to guest post then please email me Forest.Parks@Gmail.com with your idea and accepted posts will be paid $5 as a gift from me.

Well said
Thanks Susan, Nat did a great job.
yes , even i got email from entrecard that they are going to monetize it, few months back I sold 1700 Ec for $3 now since entrecard will buy them I hope it show some improvement in prices
I think that’s about the rate they are at right now… once a bunch of points get sold off though they should rise in value.
PS: Your comment was hiding in spam… sorry I took so long to get back to you!
Awesome…. hopefully over time they will become a little more valuable too, once they have cleansed their system of points.
I wouldn’t count on that. Sure it’d be nice but I just can’t imagine any reason for them to want it to happen.
Aparently this is part of the reason for cleaning up their system. With less points in the system they SHOULD be worth more value…. I guess, like you said, this may not be the case though and we shall see what they have up their sleeves…
@ Miami web Design – I didn’t get the word on how valuable the credits would be, I hope they are better than $3 for 1700. I did hear thought that after many credits are cleaned up remaining credits would be more valuable, which makes sense, and if you still have a lot you will make bigger money for your credits.

Great response Nat.
I had never heard of Entrecard before but it sounds like a good idea to me. Less points, more value.. good idea! It amazes me how many ways there are to advertise on the internet!
…And there are always new ones too!! It’s hard to keep up with.
A good bet for newbies is to use Adsense and then test other things one at a time…
I agree, adsense at least has simple rules. Not like with entrecard where not only the rules are pretty complicated but also they change them from time to time and if you don’t remember to check it every once in a while you might end up really regretting it.
I’ve never heard of Entrecard either, like some other people here.
The idea does sound quite interesting though, I will research Entrecard a lot further and signup.
It’s really easy to use. I still have Ben’s entrecard on here but should switch to mine very soon (another thing to add to the list) and start building the points back up.
I agree, it’s worthwhile. I just have to get back to it now!! I still have the old owners Entrcard on here!
