At some point in every blog’s lifetime it will feel like your talking to yourself in an echo chamber. Usually in the beginning this is exactly what you are doing. A good blogger will make it out by letting the blogosphere into the room with them. It can be quite easy depending on the niche and content, or it can be quite painful to the uninformed and not so motivated blogger. These circumstances can happen at any time. A random situation may occur that makes you feel like no one is reading, paying attention or commenting. You may even have the formula for success in action to no avail. Does this sound familiar?
The best way to handle this situation is really to stay on course with your goals. Try not to write anything in stone as to how you will or will not conduct your blog at this point, but also try not to change your format so much that the readers you have no longer appreciate whatever it was that got them to stick around in the first place. This will be the best practice at your trade that you may ever get. Keep chipping away at the block until you break out. As long as you are providing the means to be found, and encourage response the drought will see much needed rain soon enough.
Take solace in the fact that just about every blog author has had this happen. Also know that as awkward as it is, you should be using that feeling to grow as an author and blogger. Often times you will test your mettle during this phase as to whether or not you have what it takes to survive in the blogosphere.
As I think about the first days of blogging where I was talking in an empty room I realized that is where the most important decisions about blogging were made for me. Essentially I found my blogging voice and decided how and to who I would write for.
I tested a few different ideas of how I thought my blog should be and tried to relay those ideas in different fashions. In the end I found my niche and my work flow, and ultimately my voice.
My advice to new bloggers who feel like no one is listening is not to give up and use the experience of other blog’s to make a good clean start.
The things you learn now will shape the way you blog forever. Not only does this experience grow you as a blogger but also it grows you as a person accomplishing what may have seen impossible before hand.
Make the leap and do not be afraid! Even when it seems no one is listening often times someone is and as long as you stay the course more will come.

I have sometimes felt that no one is listening, I am sure this has happened to all of us. We do need to stay on course with our goals as you said, we can keep climbing the mountain bit by bit. It is sometimes hard to just keep going after discouragement, but it must be done.
Patience will always be rewarded

@Nathaniel I read your blog, and if I enjoy it others will too, all in good time.
@Rajaie You hit the nail on the head my friend. Patience.
Yes thanks Ben, I know the people that read it enjoy it, sometimes certain people come for certain posts, maybe not in the niche. More people will come in good time I hope. In the beginning I thought they would just come to me to read my content. It does happen with some where they are recognized without much promotion.
I definitely agree. The most important thing is being comfortable in your own blogskin lol. Not trying to copy or mimic others, but let your blog be a reflection of you and your character. Write it like yourself, don’t try to write like other bloggers.
People come to your blog for info from YOU, in your words or your style. Nothing against guest posting, but in general, that’s different, it’s someone else, but when you start writing and conducting your blog to mimic others…it can’t be good in the long run.
Learn form others, form your own methods and stick to your goals….great stuff
