My $250 Adsense Day

Yesterday I had a bit of a shock and I thought it would be nice to share it with you guys.
I logged into my Google Adsense Account at around 11 in the morning and to my suprise it was sitting at around $40.
My first reaction was that I was getting spam clicks, but on further investigation I could see that visitors were pouring in from all over the United States. This all happened on a Frugal Living site of mine.
All 10,000 odd visitors came from Yahoo for one keyword. The only explanation I can give is that Yahoo featured a link to the search page somewhere on their website.
So after spending a lot of the day refreshing the Adsense page my final Adsense earnings were a whopping $256.90. Around $245 of that from one site, one article and one keyword.

So what does all this mean?
This amazing spike only lasted a day but gave me a nice taste of what I am aiming for and shows that it isn’t an unachievable dream.
The article was an old one written almost a year ago and although it has been doing consistantly well in the search engines, nothing prepared me for this onslaught.
My site even went down half way through the day and I had to get support to get it back online. Turns out I had some permissions settings messed up!
My lesson…. Keep writing quality articles for my niche sites. Each time you plan, research and write an article you are adding to your online real estate. You never know who or what trend may pick up your content and send you on such a ride.
….. Now I need to power onwards and make this consistent.

Wow that’s great Forest! Those surprises are the best. And it’s true, they really are encouraging even when they are momentary. I remember the shock of my first Adsense spike. Now and then I get them again but never $250!

Forest, this is not the first time I heard that an old site reemerged and started making money again w/ adsense. I guess it depends on the search trends as they change. Hopefully history will repeat itself.

Pretty impressive… almost 260 bucks in one day. Nice job. Making money thru Google Adense is not as easy as it looks like.

Wow, that’s some nice earnings you made there. I’m always scared about Google adsense chasing away potential new subscribers although it seems that’s not always the case.

There are ways to show ads only to those who come from search engines or only show ads on older posts…. A plugin called “Why Do Work Adsense Plugin” can help you with that.

, I actually keep the site pretty under wraps. Mainly because I have some nice articles that rank well with Google and I don’t want competition to start chipping away at me….
Alright alright fine lol. That’s probably the smart thing to do. That’s still a very impressive feat though. Could you tell me how much it makes on average a day? Or is that too much information?

. It makes between $5-10 a day on average but that’s partly due to me hardly working in the last month. I am back to work soon so hoping to triple that soon.

No I have quite a few that range in how successful they are…. I make around $700 a month from adsense. Hoping to get that up to $1000 soon.

Congrats on such a great Adsense day! It’s like you said – the quality of your articles really counts, not so much the quantity. You’d be amazed at how many bad and “spun” articles there are out there…
