Hello everyone today has been a beautiful Alabama day. Nice bright and sunny. It reached a wonderful 87 degrees Fahrenheit and had a nice little breeze going. I hope this message finds you well and having a great day.
The flag above was originally designed by Ronn Cobb, and was published for the first time in October 25, 1969. The flag was patterned after the flag of the United States, and had thirteen stripes alternating green and white. Its canton was green with a yellow theta. It originally had a symbol that was a combination of the letters “E” and “O” taken from the words “Environment” and “Organism”, respectively. Later flags used either a theta because of its historic use as a warning symbol, or the peace symbol. The first Earth Day was celebrated worldwide and got 20 million Americans out into the spring sunshine for peaceful demonstrations in favor of environmental reform.
I strongly urge everyone to write your senators and congressmen about taking positive environmental action now. It probably wouldn’t hurt to also mail the vice president and president as well looking at the way things have gone. We only get one life to live and we should live it as best we can. I promise it will not take much away from your normal grind to be a little more green, plant a tree and write some goverment officials. If you are of the more hardcore nature and able to live off the grid I commend you for it. For the rest of us stay vigilant and protest detestable environmental practices by anyone you can afford to. Lets keep are little marble healthy and ourselves healthy.
