During my recent move from my private hosting to HostGator I changed a few things on the blog. The first thing was of course upgrading to the lastest version which I was not at the time. I also updated all of my plugins and made the correct back ups just in case something crazy happened.
Everything went pretty smooth. Supercache and sez who stopped working. A quick reinstall of super cache fixed whatever problem it was having so no sweat there. I struggled to figure out why sezwho would quit working though. For a few weeks while I was moving I attempted to get this working again as I had removed gravatar support from my theme and instead started to rely on sezwho for avatars and thread ranking as well as the history option for all posters and authors.
If you have not installed sezwho on your blog yet I highly recommend it as it is chock full of features and usefulness for any blog. For me it fufills the ability to network better with commentators, authors and all the while let users rate threads. This becomes important later while planning content for your blog and as all of you already know its much better to produce content which your reader would like to read rather than the latter of the options available.
Well to bring you back to the story at hand I was not able to get the sezwho plugin working and it had been so long since I had edited the code removing my gravitars that I neither could remember nor did I have a back up of the site at that stage in its developement. This would be where I start to panic as at the time twitter flash friends had stopped functioning correctly and my autoresponder service was not worth the code it was saved as. I went over to the sezwho support forum made a quick post and made note of all the variables of before and after. A couple of their wonderful staff spent roughly 16 hours plugging away at the problem to find out in the end that something within the wp core itself was causing the comment section to not work as it should. In the end they created a work around untill wp addresses the issue they have created recently with a patch. So in short these guys went above and beyond to make sure their plugin was working as I needed and did not stop untill it was right.
It is not often that you find paid support that is even this great, but people working for a product they love and helping others out in the process is totaly priceless. I want to thank the whole sezwho staff for getting this live again here on Big Ben Patton’s Place. Had they been a 2nd or 3rd rate support team with no love or passion for what they do I may of had to switch to another theme or hacked mine up again into little pieces.
A Deep thank you to the sezwho staff for going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my readers and myself are able to enjoy the luxaries of the sezwho plugin. This is a plugin I would highly recommend to anyone looking to build your reader loyalty and expand your networking possibilities.
This was in no way a paid for advertising for sezwho I honestly wrote this because of how amazed I am that their are still people out there with a real passion for doing things right and making their customers happy even when they do not have to. Just in case you do not already have a link SezWho.Com Go now and get this plugin its a must!

Thank Ben, for the mention and the kind words…and welcome to the community. Let us know if you have any other feedback or run into any issue.

Nice post, I don’t think I’ll go with their plugin yet. It’s a little bit too controlling in my opinion.
I like having different plugins from different people not just a big company.

It is quite flexable via the options they provide and I have to note as well since I did not in my post that they are very responsive to user feedback unlike many other plugins. While I understand why you like mutiple plugins to get a job done you should investigate this one a little further.
I will take some screen shots and post late morning early am hours after work to show you what the plugin offers and what you can control. I do not even have all of the features enabled as you can also add the ability to rate comments as well.
Happy Blogging

Yeah, SezWho is pretty cool. I had it installed at one point, then removed it in my plugin purging, I may put it back as more of my pals are starting to use it.

I have used this plugin on a few of my other blogs. It is pretty neat and really does offer a lot of customization.
