This Months Itinerary

Posted on 02. Jul, 2008 by in News

July is poised to be the most exciting month so far for Big Ben Patton’s Place. This month I will be branching out from the usual blogging topics to include some basic marketing guides, product creation, affiliate marketing and email campaigns. I look forward to helping everyone get their feet wet, or even helping some veterans get a new edge.

I have in the works a few new contest ideas. My goal is to top 100 RSS Subscribers by the end of July. I also plan to average 5 comments per post in the hopes of raising commentation and participation. Alexa will be sub 80k. If a PR update happens the goal is 3+. Technorati sub 100k. Site-Rank 3+. To date I have not posted monetization results and at the moment I am still on the fence. While I do not mind helping people get started or even tackeling some advanced subjects I generally keep these figures underwraps as matter of personal preference.

This month should also see some new media on the blog as well. What kind do you ask? Ustream. I have already setup my account and look forward to a live broadcast from my home. If it is successful I will continue this once a week or even more as to interact with everyone live and address your questions or discuss anything related to the blog. I never persued vlogging as at the time it did not seem to be doing well, and I will admit that the means by which I was editing and producing the limited content was very frustrating. Now will this new hardware I will be reaveling later this month it should be a breeze to share some interesting material with you all. As a side note I am toying with bring back podcasts, but having it outsourced to a computer generated voice that is easy to listen to as to not take away from my creative and networking time, but to also add that depth for those that wish to take advantage of it. Keep a look out for this coming soon.

That is it for today look for posts to be put out at around 9am CST and RSS mailings around 4-5pm CST. I have changed this recently from the 8-9PM publishing and rss syndication.

July seems to be a very exciting month all around. With so many blogs putting out content it should be great.

It would be very nice if you could put out a live broadcast every week. I would definitely tune in to that. Would be very cool to see you on the screen : p.

Also, good luck on you PR update, and your goals in turns of Alexa rating and Technorati. I’m sure you will have no problem reaching those.

Nice goals! I have heard that it is quite hard to crack the sub 100k in alexa, but I reckon you can smash it easy!

Tom check my alexa ranking before I left the blog on auto post for Most of June during my move I had broken the top 70k and was maintaining untill I quit promoting during my move. It is infact difficult to make it there but a very thesable goal for any blogger that posts daily. You should also join me in making that goal this month.
