I just use the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade. It does what both this plugins do and now I can do the upgrade automatically. The plugin wasnt so good before but it was recently updated and now the plugins get reactivated automatically and you can now upgrade wordpress automatically! This New DB Plugin I am running with for this does everything the previous one we used does it can mail them store localy or allow you to download them. It also has a db repair feature as well as a db optimization function. Overall a little more powerful than the last DB plugin I had loaded. Either works to get the job done though.

Very nice. I prefer to do upgrades myself, but I’m sure the auto upgrade is worth it’s weight (sort of) in gold for some people. I would also reccomend using wp-db-backup rather than manager for backups; because it has more functionality, and can email you backups daily, which is a massive bonus for people like me with no time to download them
